Are you stuck in a ‘rut’? Did you know that when you can perceive something differently, it changes your brain? When your own life is your ‘classroom’, every emotional situation you find yourself in truly means something. It’s a chance to change your mind – to perceive something in a different way. A chance to let something go that has been weighing you down whether that is a thought, a beli >>>

Have you ever noticed that whenever you have a problem, you’re THERE? Have you ever noticed that whenever something or someone pushes your buttons, it’s YOU that feels it? If YOU are there everytime, and YOU are feeling the sensations and emotions, then, chances are, the so-called ‘problem’ originated with you. OK now, don’t get defensive – it’s not how it sounds! “I’m not good enough.” “I have to DO things for others to be loved by them.” “I have to PLEASE people to be accepted by them.” “It’s selfish to put my own needs first.” “I have to be in control of everything or else something bad will happen.” “Life isn’t fair.” Can you relate to any of these negative beliefs? There is a simple Universal Law; You cannot receive what you are unable to give and you cannot give what you are unable to receive. Consider for a moment why relationships with others are sometimes difficult or disappointing. We always seem to want to get something from the person we’re in relationship with (ie love, respect, compassion etc), but as soon as you demand these things from that person, the whole relationship seem >>>

When you get emotionally overwhelmed, the ‘thinking’ part of your brain actually switches off!! That’s why you just can’t think straight. Use this really simple ‘mindfulness’ technique to switch it back on again!   1. Sit down somewhere and take deep breath 2. Focus on your feet/shoes for about 30 seconds 3. Look up and focus on something above you 4. Close your eyes 5. Concentrate on feeling yo >>>

Our brains have been ‘wired’ a certain way through our childhood conditioning (what we’ve been taught by others) and the experiences we’ve had with other people along the way. These experiences and conditioning, along with the strong emotions that went with them have created the neural pathways or ”wiring’ you now have in your brain. In your past, if you had what you thought to be a traumatic, e >>>

Mind your step! Mind that slippery pathway! Mind yourself on that ladder, it could be dangerous! Mind you don’t fall asleep at the wheel while you’re driving! We’re constantly warned to ‘mind’ a fair few things these days, but how often do we ‘mind’ our own mind? Have you ever wondered why people treat you a certain way over and over again no matter where you go or what you do? Do we ever take notice of what we’r >>>

Relationship Break-ups

December 7, 2010
What I’ve learned, is that relationship break-ups, when you are feeling sad and alone are the most amazing opportunities for growth. It might not seem like it at the time, but when you are in the middle of, or recovering from a break-up, your thoughts and feelings around it can spell out very clearly what you want and what you don’t want from a relationship. It can spell out very clearly how you WANT to feel in y >>>

What I’ve learned, is that there’s no secret to happiness.. Everything rests on a set of unconscious, hidden beliefs about ourselves, that then determine how we TREAT ourselves, (which also seems to determine how OTHERS treat us), which then has a major impact on how happy we are. Our unconscious mind with all its negative self talk and fixed beliefs is like our auto pilot. These hidden beliefs determine our first reaction in e >>>
